Jessica Owers was born the year that Kingston Town won his first Cox Plate. As a young girl at school she learned of Phar Lap, and she has been smitten with racing history ever since. She completed a combined honours degree in Environmental Science/Journalism from the University of Stirling, Scotland, then returned to Australia where she worked as a riding instructor then sub-editor/writer for Outback Magazine and Breeding&Racing. Her work has been published in Inside Breeding, The Thoroughbred, Turf Monthly and Racing Life, along with various other publications across the racing industry. Peter Pan is her first book. Jessica lives in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs and is currently writing her second racing book, due in 2013.
